Association Moderator - Rev. Dr. Joshua T. Jones, Jr.
Pastor Jones is a dynamic figure, serving as Senior Pastor at Roberts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Goldston, NC. Alongside his ministry, he had a distinguished 25-year military career, retiring as a Combat Veteran in 2010. Currently, he directs Veterans and Disability Support Services at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and serves as an Adjunct Professor at California National University. With a Bachelor's degree from Shaw University and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary, he's also the founder/CEO of B.E.L.T. (Building Effective Leaders and Teams), offering leadership and team-building training. Alongside his wife Denise and their children, they've fostered five children and serve as spiritual parents to many others.
First Vice Moderator - Rev. Kenneth Headen
Rev. Kenneth Headen is a highly respected pastor at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sanford, NC He possesses a heart that is dedicated to serving the community and a passion for spiritual growth. Rev. Headen leads his congregation with unwavering faith and provides inspirational guidance. He strives to spread love, hope, and the teachings of Christ as he leads his congregation in worship, fellowship, and service. His commitment to his faith and his community is truly inspiring.
Second Vice Moderator - Rev. George Headen
Pastor Headen's ministry is a dynamic fusion of faith, culture, and unwavering commitment. His captivating preaching style resonates with believers and non-believers, invoking a profound sense of God's presence in every service. Union President - Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Smith, Sr.
Thomas E. Smith, Sr. hails from Wake County, raised in rural Raleigh/Garner, and nurtured in the faith at Juniper Level Baptist Church. He pursued his education at UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, before serving the City of Raleigh for twenty-two years. In his college years, he fully committed his life to Christ, eventually answering the call to ministry in 1980. He received his Master of Divinity from Shaw Divinity School and a Doctor of Ministry from Virginia Union University.
Rev. Smith's ministerial journey began at Juniper Level Baptist Church, where he was licensed and ordained. He later served as Associate Pastor at Good Hope Baptist Church before pastoring Brookston Baptist Church for over fourteen years. Currently, he leads First Calvary Baptist Church in Sanford, NC.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Rev. Smith is a published author and active community servant. Yet, above all, his fervent love for Jesus Christ and passion for souls remain his driving force. His ultimate goal is to see people saved and growing in their relationship with Christ.
Vice President - Rev. Calvin Stokes
Pastor Calvin L. Stokes serves as the pastor of Edwards Grove Missionary Baptist Church and holds the of Vice President for the Deep River Missionary Baptist Association Union. He is committed to the faithful proclamation of the Gospel, youth mentorship, and the advancement of Kingdom building. With a focus on leading with integrity, faith, and Christ-like humility, Pastor Stokes exemplifies dedicated service to God and community.
